The company employs IBM batch-processing to computerize its circulation lists - the first Asian publishing company to do so.

The first Taiwan sales office is established, in Taipei.

The company launches a trade publication called Asian Sources. The front cover introduces the publication as "a monthly magazine that will serve businessmen active in the trade of consumer products made in Asia for export to Western markets." The start-up company consists of 10 full-time people in Hong Kong and 15 full and part-timers throughout the region.
