Global Sources Fashion show becomes buyers’ barometer

Global Sources Fashion show recently opened at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo. As Hong Kong’s largest fashion sourcing event, participants can conveniently source fashion accessories, fabrics and apparel across 1,700 booths all under one roof, bringing a visual feast to global buyers.

Global Sources Fashion show features Verified Suppliers from major fashion manufacturing hubs including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines and other ASEAN countries and regions. The show hosts the largest collections of bags and luggage, footwear, and sports fashion in Hong Kong and Asia’s largest scarves pavilion. Thousands of top buyers are expected to attend the show.

“In additional to highlighting a wide range of products from suppliers in Asia, more than 500 exhibitors will promote their own designs and brands. On the other hand, Amazon and other online sellers will find a variety of products with more than 65 percent of exhibitors able to accept small orders,” said Livia Yip, President of Global Sources Fashion. She said that a wide range of services will help enhance the buying experience of online and Amazon sellers to source more efficiently. This includes products from exhibitors that accept small orders, an Online Retail 101 conference highlighting eCommerce strategy and marketing techniques, and a special fashion parade on what’s hot on Amazon.

There are a lot of highlights at the show. The design and layout of the show floor has greatly facilitated buyers and sellers to lean the latest information and negotiate with each other conveniently. Exhibitors have also shown their own "secret weapons" – their latest products and designs to attract overseas buyers. You can see visitors eagerly bustling around the show floor.

Washable paper bags, 360 degree body scanners, dual-sounding intelligent alarms... At the show's Fashion Tech Zone, exhibitors were showcasing smart, green and innovative fashion products, allowing participants to experience how technology can be incorporated into fashion accessories and apparel. Global Sources Fashion show highlighted the technology empowering fashion. Smart, green and innovative fashion products are leading the new fashion trend.

Meanwhile, riding on the trends and development of the industry, Global Sources Fashion show features even more fascinating personalized products. There are insoles to keep your feet warm without charging, functional fitness wear that can grow muscles and aide in weight loss, a backpack can reduce shoulder stress…… all these incredible sounding products are all on display at the show.

This spring show also featured Young Designers Corner which was a showcase of concepts created by talented designers from different fashion schools; the Rising Designers Corner was a dedicated area for fashion startups, and up-and-coming designers to introduce their creations; Trend Forums featured color trends for Spring/Summer 2019 by Pantone, in addition to the apparel and accessories trend forecasts for Fall/Winter 2018/19 curated by Fashion Snoops; Conference Programs included industry experts speaking about current fashion trends, new technology application such as AI, 3D printing in the fashion industry along with sourcing tips.

“Through the prefect incorporation of tradition and innovation, the experienced and emerging young people, Global Sources is committed to creating a fashion ecosystem to help manufacturers shift towards upper stream of the value chain,” said Yip.
