China International Optoelectronic Exposition 2011 expands by 20 percent, featuring over 3,000 exhibitors
HONG KONG, Sept. 6, 2011 – The 13th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) opens today and runs through September 9 in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The three concurrent expositions of CIOE (Optical Communications, Lasers & Infrared Applications Expo, Precision Optics Expo and LED Expo) and the co-located Global Sources' (NASDAQ: GSOL) Global Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components feature over 3,000 exhibitors. The total exhibition space has been expanded to 90,000 square meters, a 20 percent increase from last year.

Top enterprises like JDSU, Finisar, NTT, NeoPhotonics, Source Photonics, Fiberhome, WTD, Mitsubishi Electric, O-net, Photop, WXZTE, Hisense, FLIR, SAT, Newport, LEYBOLD, HOYA, DON, OHARA, USTRON, OCEAN Optics, EDMUND, OLYMPUS, SCHOTT, ASM, ASYMTEK, GARTER, MONOCRYSTAL, MMS, NEON KING, Silan, Retop and Ledman are showcasing their latest technologies and products. Also participating are international exhibitors from Canada and Germany, UK Trade & Investment, France's Optical Society and other government organizations and business associations from around the world. 

Global Sources' Executive Chairman, Merle A. Hinrich, said: "The growth of CIOE reflects the rapid development of the global optoelectronics industry. The world optoelectronics market expanded by 30% last year and growth continues to be strong in 2011. China is one of the major optoelectronics manufacturing regions in the world, as well as an increasingly important market for international suppliers. Secretary General of CIOE, Prof. Yang Xiancheng, said: "We have expanded the exhibition space by 20 percent this year. As early as July, all the booths in the 90,000 square meters exhibition space were already booked. Our relationship with Global Sources has extended our reach and expanded our coverage in the electronics industry. We expect an excellent turnout of visitors this year. ZTE, HUAWEI, Foxconn, Changchun Institution of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics have all confirmed their attendance."

Over 100 conference speakers are presenting at the four-day event. Industry experts and professionals  are scheduled to take center stage as they share their insights at the China Optical Communication Technology and Development Forum, Chinese Optical Society Annual Conference and LED Lighting Technology and Development Forum.

Global Sources' Global Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components is co-locating with CIOE on September 6th, 7th and 8th. Special product pavilions include Components, Brand Zone, Telecom Products & Wireless, Computer Peripherals, iProduct & Accessories and Consumer Electronics & Home Appliances.
