Global Sources' fall trade shows expand to more than 7,400 booths
Enhanced China Sourcing Fairs combine online plus at-show exhibition booths – extending the show experience for buyers and suppliers up to six months HONG KONG, Nov. 9, 2011 – Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) just completed its fall series of China Sourcing Fairs with more than 7,400 booths – an increase of seven percent from the October 2010 shows. A total of 14 shows were held in Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Expo. More than 62,000 buyers attended, an increase of three percent, representing 158 countries and territories.
Among buyers attending were very large importers including Auchan, Best Buy, Benetton, Boots, Bosch, CHUBB, Dollar General, El Corte Ingles, Hallmark Cards, Lacoste, Lenovo, Levi's, Logitech, Marks & Spencer, Mothercare, Next, Office Depot, Philips, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Schneider, Toys “R” Us, Woolworths and Zara. “Our shows have gained a reputation for showcasing a distinctive universe of manufacturers and suppliers from Greater China and throughout the region, as demonstrated by the quality and quantity of buyers in attendance. Our new Online Sourcing Fairs allow buyers to view exhibitors' products two months prior to the physical event, and their booths up to four months following the physical exhibitions. Buyers can also communicate with suppliers through various channels, together with having access to video interviews of exhibitors and other editorial coverage of the shows. For exhibitors, the online shows can allow them to extend their exhibition investments from four days to a six-month integrated marketing program,” said Tommy Wong, President of Global Sources Exhibitions. “Together, the China Sourcing Fairs and Online Sourcing Fairs combine the face-to-face exhibition experience with online technology that greatly enhances the productivity of attending trade shows for both buyers and suppliers.
