Three-day IIC-China opens in Shenzhen with keynote by "China's Father of Embedded Systems" and participation of world's top IC companies
Conferences to reveal the latest embedded system design tools, analog, power and Smartphone design technologies
Live product teardowns will feature exciting face-off's between new Smartphones and tablet PCs at IIC-China Shenzhen to be held on February 24th, 25th and 26th
SHENZHEN, China, February 24, 2011 – Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) announced that the 16th International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China, http://www.english.iic-china.com) opens today at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, with a keynote address on "Opportunities for Embedded Systems in the Era of Internet of Things" by Professor He Limin of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, who is widely known as the "Father of Embedded System in China".

The three-day event (February 24, 25 and 26) features twice daily live product teardowns of new Smartphones and tablet PCs, in addition to conferences on embedded systems, analog, power and Smartphone design technologies, over 30 technical application courses (TAC) and TechShare sessions, and about 590 exhibition booths of world leading technology vendors such as ADI, Atmel, Freescale, Intel, Intersil, NXP and STMicroelectronics.

Visitors attending three or more conferences and TAC sessions will receive a special certificate.

Rich technical content aims to inspire innovation

Yan Chenwei, Vice President of Qualcomm – a world leader in 3G and next-generation mobile technologies, is scheduled to open the Smartphone Conference tomorrow (February 25) with a keynote speech on "Growth of Smart Mobile Devices and Chip Technology Trends"; Jane Hsu, Director of IMS Research's Taiwan Office, is slated to speak on Saturday (February 26) on "LED Market Opportunities and Challenges" at the Power Conference.

Experts from technology companies such as Dongbu HiTek, Fairchild, Leadcore, Micron, NXP, Parasoft, STMicroelectronics and TriQuint Semiconductor are also scheduled to speak at the conferences.

Global Sources analysts are scheduled to perform two live product teardowns on each day. The Smartphone teardown will give engineers a chip-by-chip, technology-by-technology analysis of two international and local branded Smartphones. Another session will provide an in-depth look inside two popular tablet PCs.

Top IC and component vendors showcase latest products

At the exhibition, the world's leading semiconductor companies, including ADI, Atmel, Freescale, Fujitsu, Intel, Intersil, Maxim, Micron, NXP, On-Bright, On Semiconductor, ROHM, Silicon Labs, STMicroelectronics and Vishay, are scheduled to showcase their latest solutions and products to mainland China's engineering community. Exhibiting alongside them are key distributors including Advanced MP Technology, Eluomeng, Richardson Electronics and RS Components, as well as top local IC companies and design houses such as BYD Microelectronics, Beijing Nufront, Go2Silicon and Sino IC.

Engineers can also see the latest semiconductor devices and solutions from Taiwan and Korea vendors at the regional pavilions.

Leading passive-component suppliers such as EYANG Technology Development, Mornsun and Shenzhen Sunlord Electronics are also showcasing their products at the Components Zone.
